The beautiful view, eclectic and comfortable rooms, lovely surroundings, lovely host and great dogs, not to mention the excellent breakfasts. And the walk through the property and along the nearby beach.
So very Quirky and peaceful
A quiet, peaceful spot surrounded by nature. Gracious hosts. Loved the sense of freedom for the resident dogs and birds.
Such a pretty old house and garden, lovingly decorated. -comfy bed -good shower -clean If you're into antiseptic impersonal minimalistic design, this is not the place for you. If you like to sit on a squeaky but comfortable 120 year chair in the breakfast room, with beautiful paintings and design elements everywhere and if you like to get a glimpse on what historical tasmanian houses looked like back in the day, you will love it here. There's 3 large but friendly dogs, just so you know.
Beautiful evening meal and delightful breakfast options. The dogs were a wonderful addition to the homely feel.
I loved the relaxed setting and family atmosphere of the venue and property. I will recommend to my friends. I will also be back to stay again in the future. The bed was most comfortable!
The place was tranquil and relaxing. Room was quaint and comfortable. Great meal!
Absolutely beautiful. Some of the best food Ive ever eaten! And stunning views! Beautiful rooms!
Second visit. Beautiful accommodation. Lovely grounds. Very clean
Everything is just great! The house is full of history. I picked up a book randomly and the sticker inside the cover page shows the purchased year - 1954! There are antique pieces at every corner of the house. Even the guest book is thick enough and old enough to hold the guest notes back in 2012. Host was so kind and friendly. She introduced every part of the house on my arrival and even brought her dogs onto my pickup truck so I can take some wonderful pictures! Thanks very much!
I love staying here, always have an amazing time. Lovely staff and great location!

Love the location - beautiful bush and coastal views and walks - garden surrounds also glorious. House is full of history and quirkiness - loved it all. Drinks in the Drawing Room before an amazing Evening meal served.
a delightful historic house with quiet peaceful accommodation and exquisite grounds and views. Host Sophie was full of local knowledge and the history of the house and area. the evening meal and breakfast were both excellent
what a wonderful place! Sophie was phenomenal!
This is a beautiful property and to hear from Sophie and her heritage of the property was very touching. I am always supportive of people who try and preserve the old buildings and homes with their history because once they go we will never see the like. It's a stunning spot and the main house is magnificent even in its current state. We stayed in one of the other buildings and she was kind enough to get the heaters going and we were toasty all night. Sophie kindly set up a breakfast tray which was very kind. The pieces of furniture and other decorative things in and around the place also whispers old world elegance that we are losing....to cold minimalist architecture that can be put up in the week. As Sophie puts it everything was hand hewn and lovingly put together. I highly recommend Hawley House and help Sophie succeed in restoring her family home...
the food overall was excellent. Breakfast was ample and the added cooked breakfast if required was perfect. The evening meal was superb, especially the scallop crepes. The location was not easy to find if you relied on the GPS, not quite where it should have been.. Nevertheless we found it. The grounds are interesting and we wish the family well in maintaining everything.
the room , the property , the food
Remote yet near to beach and walks
Absolute gem with a very cool long-standing history. Such beautiful ambient grounds and nature sounds. Very much felt as we had spent the night on history. Something to look at every turn (especially the pups on site who are adorable!).
For an area which relies on the Spirit of Tasmania Ferry, were were unable to get a cooked breakfast as their dining didnt open until 8am, people need to leave Hawley by 8:30 to catch the ferry. I asked the night before if we could pre order breakfast so it would be ready at 8am, but was told it wasnt possible.
I felt like I could stay here for a very long time. a very relaxed feel and lovely common areas that were ideal for relaxing with a good book or playing games with family.
Beautiful old house with great charm. Fantastic location and views. Dinner was excellent . A lovely stay.
The room had a good feeling about it.
beautiful healthy breakfast. lovely gardens
